Focus on First Open Call winners: Monitoring Environmental-friendly quality in Plastic injection molding

WHAT ABOUT THE EXPERIMENT?

The idea of the project is to pave the way for a new generation of the monitoring and analyzing services for injection moulding process, which are focused not only on the processes performances (KPIs), but also on the eco-friendliness of the process, what we call eco-friendly process quality.

Main goal is to develop a software-hardware infrastructure, based on AI REDGIO 5.0 assets, for enabling a comprehensive monitoring, analysis and control of the eco-friendly quality of the injection moulding process, through focusing on two main factors, which also define its environmental footprint: Energy and Emission.

WHAT IS THE EXPECTED IMPACT?

KPI1: Sensing of the environmental related data (emission, energy consumption) will be efficiently enabled. Value: min 90% of the data can be collected

KPI2: Modelling of the environmentally friendly quality using AI REDGIO 5.0 DataQuality pipelines. Value: min 85% of the required models will be provided using data pipelines

KPI3: Energy efficiency improved. Value: recommendations for min 10% reduction in the energy consumption.

KPI4: Environmental pollution reduced. Value: recommendations for min 10% reduction in the emission of toxic gases.
