About us

Polymeris is the main French Cluster focusing on plastics, rubbers and composite materials. With a network of 530 members including 330 industrial companies, the cluster supports SMEs, mid-caps and large companies in their innovation activities with R&D partners and RTOs. The cluster provides companies with 15 years of expertise in strategic markets and offer them a full range of services to support them from the emergence of an idea to its operational deployment and marketing. The main mission of Polymeris is to respond to the global challenges of digital and ecological transition, by enabling the development of intelligent, safe and sustainable products. In particular, POLYMERIS will accelerate technological and scientific synergies between industry and academia to meet the challenges of the circular economy and the industry of the future (digitization, agility, adaptability, performance).

Polymeris has main establishments in Bellignat (01), Orléans (45) as well as in Charbonnières-les-Bains (69) as part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes digital region Campus. On the other hand, the cluster maintains and develops regional branches in Bordeaux, Dijon, Les Villettes, Nantes, Vitry-sur-Seine and Clermond-Ferrand (in 2023)

Polymeris is involved, among other initiatives, in the vanguard Initiative and EDIH4Manu network. The cluster is also leading since the 1rst of January 2023 Polytronics, an European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) dedicated to support companies from the polymers industry in their digital maturity by leveraging the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) based on exploitable data from their products and manufacturing processes.

Polymeris is partner of AI REDGIO 5.0 and will follow the different activities of the project, focusing on supporting the SME George Pernoud in its experimentation in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and contributing to the development of an (E)DIH Network for AI-at-the-Edge Industry 5.0.
